Peyronie’s disease is generally an unknown condition, yet it occurs regularly. 3% to 9% of all men are affected by it, and even 20% of men with Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, or Erectile Dysfunction. The average age at which the disease manifests is between 40 and 60 years.
Peyronie’s disease is a benign penile disorder with an unknown cause. Peyronie’s is characterized by the development of hardened fibrous tissue strands in the wall of the corpora cavernosa, also called plaque. This causes deformation of the penis (curvature), decrease in penis length, and can lead to erectile dysfunction.
Symptoms
- Formation of hardened scar tissue (plaque) in the shaft of the penis
- Curvature of the penis
- Painful erections

Progression of the Disease
Peyronie’s disease is caused by inflammation which leads to the development of scar tissue on the corpora cavernosa and the formation of plaque. In the initial phase of the disease, the plaque is still flexible and soft. As time passes, the plaque will further harden.
The natural progression of Peyronie’s disease varies. In 30 to 50% of men, the curvature worsens, and in 47 to 67% of cases, the curvature remains the same.
In 3% to 13% of men, spontaneous improvement even occurs. However, once a plaque has formed, spontaneous improvement is very unlikely. It takes an average of about 12 months after the onset of the disease for the curvature to stabilize and not worsen. In 90% of men, the pain also disappears during this phase.
Your physician has recommended a vacuum pump
By training with a vacuum pump, you can reduce the curvature in the penis. This is particularly true in the early stages of the disease when the plaque has not yet fully hardened. Rehabi PVT is specially developed for the training and rehabilitation of the penis. In our webshop, you can find more information and easily order the Rehabi PVT.
