Vagiwell

Vaginal dilators made of medical-grade silicone.

Indications

  • Vaginismus (vaginal complaints and problems with penetration)
  • Dyspareunia (pain during intercourse)
  • After vaginal surgery
  • After gender reassignment surgery (male to female)
  • Vaginal stenosis (narrowing) as a result of, for example, radiotherapy
  • Vaginal agenesis

Developed for Women

Research shows that women prefer non-transparent, flexible, soft, and colored dilators. Vagiwell has these properties.

The dilators are made of 100% medical-grade silicone, a very soft and flexible material. Exercises with the dilator support the treatment of pain during intercourse, vaginismus, recovery after surgeries or radiotherapy. Vagiwell dilators have the right balance between flexibility and firmness. This makes Vagiwell very user-friendly and comfortable to use.

Exercise

  • Generally, the dilators are used every other day.
  • Use the dilator in a relaxed place at home where you won’t be disturbed. You can also use the dilator in the bath or shower.
  • Apply sufficient lubricant to the dilator and around the vaginal entrance to facilitate insertion.
  • The dilator can be inserted in different positions. To relax the pelvic floor muscles, you can lie on your back with your knees slightly bent and apart. Or standing or with one leg on the bed or bath.
  • Insert the dilator slowly and carefully. Always start with the smallest size. First place the dilator against the vaginal entrance, then try to carefully insert the dilator a bit.
  • Insert the dilator for at least one minute each time.
  • If you experience burning or pain, keep the dilator still, tighten your pelvic floor muscles and release. This way you gradually insert the dilator further into the vagina.
  • Insert the dilator as deeply as possible, but don’t force it.
  • Then move the dilator in and out of the vagina, if possible carefully rotate the dilator.
  • Then slowly remove the dilator with a back and forth rotating motion.
  • Start with the smallest diameter. Once you have been able to insert this easily a few times, you can try a larger size.
  • Repeat the exercise.
  • Note: Vagiwell dilators should only be used with a water-based lubricant.

Cleaning

The Vagiwell® dilators are intended for use by a single patient. After use, clean the dilator(s) with lukewarm water and mild soap. Make sure the dilators are dry before storing them in the storage case (sets only).
