Composition
- Each Normaflor vaginal tablet contains 250 mg of ascorbic acid (vitamin C).
- The tablet is specially developed for exclusive vaginal use, allowing the ascorbic acid to be released slowly over several hours into the vagina, to restore the acidity (pH) among other things.
Dosage
Normalization of vaginal flora, in case of bacterial vaginosis, and to prevent recurrences:
- 1 vaginal tablet before bedtime, for 6 days, immediately after an antibiotic course.
- To maintain the natural vaginal flora, it is advised to repeat the treatment for 5 months, after each menstruation.
- For the normalization of unpleasantly smelling discharge:
- 1 vaginal tablet before bedtime, for 6 days. If necessary, repeat monthly after menstruation.
Use During Pregnancy
For women with bacterial vaginosis, premature birth, or abortion in their medical history, it is recommended:
- A single vaginal tablet before bedtime, for 6 days per month, especially during the first trimester. If necessary, the treatment can be continued.
Indications
Normaflor is used for the natural protection of the vaginal microflora by bringing and maintaining the acidity (pH) at a physiological level. Normaflor promotes the growth of lactobacilli, thereby creating an unfavorable environment for the development of pathogenic bacteria.
Normaflor can be used after antibiotic treatment to protect the vaginal flora.
Contra-indications
Normaflor should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
Side Effects
In rare cases, a burning sensation or irritation may occur. Exceptionally, hypersensitivity to one or more components has been observed. In this case, the treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.
